Undergraduate Psychology Degree Program
Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Psychology students learn about themselves at the same time that they learn about other people. They explore the many reasons why human beings think, feel, and act the way they do. Opportunities exist for students to involve themselves in faculty research, to conduct an independent study, or to engage in self-guided study of many interesting areas in psychology. Extracurricular activities include the Psych Club as well an active chapter of Psi Chi.
The School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Indianapolis offers a curriculum leading to either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) The B.A. degree prepares students for post-graduation employment or future graduate study. In addition to the core psychology courses, the B.A. curriculum has room for elective courses in other areas, including science and humanities courses. The B.A. degree requires students to complete study in a Modern Language through the 201 level.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) The B.S. degree prepares students for entry into employment or graduate school. Persons wishing to enter programs in either Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy commonly complete a B.S. degree. In addition to the core psychology courses, students pursuing the B.S. degree take science courses in the areas of biology, chemistry, and physics.
