The Psychological Services Center offers comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to individuals, families, and organizations. The Center is located in Good Hall at the University of Indianapolis. Licensed clinical faculty, and advanced graduate students working under their supervision, provide services. The Psychological Services Center is a training and research facility associated with the University of Indianapolis. The Center offers evaluation and outpatient therapy services to both children and adults. Goals of the Center
Services offered include (but are not limited to):
Your first appointment will be with a Center staff member. It will be a time where you can discuss your concerns. It will also be a time where the Center can collect some basic information and help you decide what services will best meet your needs. During your first appointment you may also be asked to complete questionnaires or to take tests. Within a week after your first appointment, someone from the Center will contact you to establish an appointment for treatment or give you recommendations for other services that may better address your concerns. Confidentiality All information obtained is considered confidential in nature. The Center will not release information without your express written request and consent. The only exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are as follows:
The Center does not provide emergency services. If you have an emergency outside of business hours, please contact a local Crisis line. There are help lines associated with St. Vincent's Hospital (317-338-4800) and at St. Francis Hospital (317-782-6495). Other crisis lines are listed in the telephone directory. Location and Hours of Operation The Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with select evenings available until 8:00 p.m. The Center is closed during university vacation times and holidays.The Center is located in Room 109 of Good Hall on the University of Indianapolis campus. The campus address is 1400 East Hanna Avenue. Canceling Appointments Please call in advance if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment. If you are calling after hours, please leave a message at the Center. Twenty-four hour notice is required to cancel an appointment. Fees The Center operates on a sliding fee scale. Fees generated go to the operation of the Center. We do recognize that, in certain cases, payment of fees may represent a financial hardship, and we are willing to establish a mechanism for the receipt of services. The Center director will be happy to discuss options with you. The Center will also assist you in completing insurance forms. Your Rights and Responsibilities It is your right to receive services that are consistent with principles established by professional organizations. Services provided at the Center are guided by Indiana law for the practice of psychology and code of ethics of the American Psychological Association. If you believe that the services you are receiving are not competent, you have rights to redress. The Center director will be happy to discuss these rights with you. |
